How often does a commercial property need an EICR?
The IET recommends a periodic inspection every five years for most offices, shops and industrial units, every three years for leisure and hospitality with higher wear, and annually for swimming pools and some agricultural sites. Landlords of residential lets in England must have one every five years by law.
Can you work outside our trading hours?
Yes. Most retail, hospitality and office installations are scheduled for evenings, weekends or shutdown periods so trading is not interrupted. Emergency lighting and fire alarm testing is usually done before opening.
Do you provide the paperwork our insurer or landlord asks for?
Every job comes with the relevant certificate: an Electrical Installation Certificate for new work, an EICR with a clear satisfactory or unsatisfactory outcome for inspections, and BS 5266 and BS 5839 test logs for emergency lighting and fire alarms. Copies are sent as PDFs and held on file.
Can you handle three-phase and larger supplies?
Yes. We design and install three-phase distribution, sub-mains, distribution boards and containment for units up to around 400 A, and coordinate with the DNO for supply upgrades and new connections.
